MÁTYÁS FAMILY ESTATE - “SANDWICH” PINOT GRIS

The Mátyás Family Estate winery was established in 2003 in the heart of the Strekov, Slovakia’s sunniest and warmest region. The Mátyás Family Estate is located on the hillsides along the Danube river. The 12 ha of land is farmed using biodynamic practices. Mátyás Family Estate has been certified as organic since 2013. The Mátyás philosophy centers on sustainable biodynamic farming in order to increase the biodiversity of their ecosystem. They do not use herbicides, pesticides or artificial fertilizers. They also strives for the farm to be a fully self-sustaining ecosystem - in addition to vineyards, they’ve also planted gardens and engage in extensive livestock farming, such as racka sheep and mangalica pigs.
