Holidaze Pét-Nat 2021

The Wine: Holidaze Pét-Nat 2021 Gearhead Wines Holidaze Pét-Nat 2021 is a red natural wine made from a blend of 60% PicPoul Blanc, 30% Merlot, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes farmed organically in California. Spontaneous fermentation with native yeast, bottled unfined, unfiltered, with no added sulfites. Holidaze is fizzy, fruit-forward, with red fruit on the nose; nice acidity from the PicPoul but overall a round and fruity wine. Another magical wine by Craig West, I don't know how he does it but his stuff is always so unique! Holidaze is no exception. The Producer: Gearhead Wines Gearhead Wines is the brainchild of Craig West and this is his story as told by the man himself. "I grew up in Orange County, California, playing in the open fields picking oranges, avocados, blackberries, pomegranates, tomatoes, walnuts, and trees and eating them. The love of the land came at an early age for me and it has been an easy transition into the vineyard." "My wine journey started harvest 2016 when I met Noel Diaz of Purity Wine. One evening Noel asked me if I would like to jump into a 48 fermenter and tread. Thrilled I climbed in and that was when it I fell in love with winemaking.
