Frezza Pét-Nat 2020

The Wine: Frezza Pét-Nat 2020 Controvento Frezza Pét-Nat is a sparkling white natural wine from Abruzzo, Central Italy, made from a blend of Trebbiano d'Abruzzo, Passerina, Malvasia di Candia, and Fiano grapes certified organic. Spontaneous fermentation, unfined, unfiltered, no added sulfites. The Producer: Controvento Controvento is a winery located in Rocca San Giovanni, Province of Chieti, Abruzzo, Central Italy, led by Vincenzo Di Meo. Vincenzo is originally from Bacoli, Campania, Southern Italy. Vincenzo's father bought some land in Rocca San Giovanni at the end of the 1970s planting some vineyards and starting what now has become a 5-hectares organic farm, Controvento – against the wine. Vincenzo mostly works with Montepulciano, Trebbiano, but also small quantities of Passerina, Fiano, and Malvasia. Vincenzo follows a non-interventionist approach in the cellar; fermentations are spontaneous with indigenous yeast, no sulfites are used at any stage of production.
