(source: Baire Wines) The Producer: Press Gang Cellars Since 2010, Kyle and Savanna Knapp have been creating small batches of exciting wines from interesting Santa Barbara County vineyards. Press Gang fruit is hand-picked, hand-sorted and fermented with native yeast. Kyle learned winemaking from the ground up, starting with harvest at a local winery. He spent a vintage abroad in Western Australia and fell in love with the craft. Upon returning home, he jumped right back into another harvest until he worked his way up to his current position as head winemaker at Stolpman. Inspired by the song “Press Gang” by The Murder City Devils, he knew, that he wanted to create something different, against the grain so to speak, to represent his winemaking style.
