The Wine: Burgunder SA NV Der Rebenhof Burgunder SA NV is a white natural wine made from a blend of certified biodynamic Pinot Gris (33.3%), Pinot Blanc (33.3%), and Chardonnay (33.3%) grapes grown in Southern Styria, Austria. Importer's notes: Burgunder SA is a blend of Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay from 5 vintages (2010-2014). The grapes from 20-40 year old vines were grown on sandstone, gravel and calcareous marl soils. Aromas of caramelized grilled orange with fresh grated ginger. Drinks beautifully like honeyed ginger lemon tea. Leaves your mouth watering with a savory herbal finish. Easy drinking, but a complex white wine that deserves contemplation. The Producer: Der Rebenhof Der Rebenhof is located in South Styria, Austria, just a stone’s throw from the Slovenian border. In 2008 Hartmut Aubell took over the vineyard that has been in his family since 1924. He farms his 23.5 acre vineyard with extreme slopes and terraces following biodynamic principles, and received Demeter certification in 2016.
